To resolve common problems with the HP Quick Launch Buttons, download and install the updated BIOS and Quick Launch button software from the HP Support & Drivers page. If I disable these 2 services the QuickPlay button won't be able to switch on the laptop from Shutdown/Hibernation/Suspend. The notebook PC may experience launch buttons that are slow to respond or that do not work as expected. To do this it seems to rely upon the 'HP Service' and 'hpqwmiex'. I wanted a solution to make MC start after you wake up the laptop from Shutdown/Hibernation and Windows gets loaded. Obviously if I press QuickPlay button AFTER Windows desktop has been loaded it does run ehshell.exe but I wanted a full replacement for the original QuickPlay function, able to boot up the laptop and run QP.exe right after Win has been loaded. I've already tried to edit QuickLaunch registry and replaced QP.exe with ehshell.exe (Media Center) but this way the PC will boot, but after Windows has been loaded it won't make MC start!! I don't know how the original QP.exe could have been started automatically. I wondered if your program could do the same?
My Pavilion DV5 1110el's (this is the name for the Italian market) QuickPlay button can boot up the entire laptop (even after a complete Shutdown, not just Hibernation/Suspend mode), and the original function does boot Windows and immediately launch QP.exe after you login.
